<pclass="image-drop-down-paragraph">Hi, I'm Mana! I'm a senior at Newton South High School, and I’m beyond excited to be leading the 2024 Boston Boslab iGEM team. When I’m not completely drowning in igem work at Boslab, I spend my time sleeping or reading (I’m a hardcore homebody). I joined iGEM because I was fascinated by the idea of engineering organisms to do our bidding. The potential to solve world problems is huge, but let’s be real—even just creating bacteria that produces the most MSG ever? Now, that’s life changing.

<pclass="image-drop-down-paragraph">I am a mentor to this wonderful team. I was apart of the 2018 FSU iGEM team where I lead the design team. In 2019, I started with Ginkgo Bioworks as an Assay Development scientists. I have extensive experiencing building assays and processes for enzymes, proteins, and organisms. I enjoy gardening, fermenting foods, and playing with my dog (@peachpit_theheeler on Instagram). After the 2018 season, I began mentoring teams as a way to stay involved with the iGEM community. I do this because I believe in the future of biotechnology and in the young scientists who participate in iGEM every year.
