I have always been interested in biology and after doing various labs in AP Biology I broaden my my lab skills and make an impact on a real world problem. This inspired me to join iGEM. I am pursuing a career in the medical field and my hobbies include tutoring, hiking, and baking!
<divclass="text">Hi! My name is Fiona Zhang and I am a senior at Westview High School. I’ve always been interested in STEM and wanted to explore the field beyond what is taught in school. I joined iGEM to pursue these interests and learn more about synthetic biology while working on a project that could impact the world. In the future, I hope to work in the medical field. Outside of school, my hobbies include violin, dance, and hiking!

<divclass="text">Kristina Hi my name is Kristina Douglas. I am a member of the wetlab group, and found the enzyme fluoroacetate dehalogenase. I contributed to making decisions with the other wet lab group members during meetings, as well as helping out with the procedures in the lab. Also I collaborated with other group members on working on the notebook portion of the wiki page.</div>

<divclass="text">Hi! My name is Sophie Duan. I am a member of the dry lab team. I assisted in finding the enzyme for haloacid dehalogenase from Protein Data Bank. I also performed all the simulations of the AutoDock models for haloacid dehalogenase and fluoroacetate dehalogenase with PFOA and PFOS. Then I took these models and used the Protein Ligand Interaction Profiler from Protein Data Bank and the data from AutoDock to analyze the data.</div>

<divclass="text">Hello! My name is Emily Halim and I am a member of the human practices group who mainly collaborated with other high school teams, NHS and CCA iGEM. I heavily contributed to the organization of the ethics symposium and led the presentation for the Westview team there. I worked on the human practices, collaborations, and the partnerships pages of the team wiki. </div>

The reason why I joined is because I wanted to apply what I had learned in AP biology into something that was able to solve a problem of somesort. iGEM was a space that let me be able to see the capabilities of what I can do and what I needed to improve on. </div>

This is why, in the future, i want to work in the medical field. Outside of school, i like to play tennis, read and hang out with my friends. </div>
