<h3class="small-title">Promotion video translation

Among our collaboration activities was translating our promotion video into different languages. Specifically, we got our promotion video script translated into <aclass="link-ref"download=""target="_blank"href="https://static.igem.wiki/teams/4118/wiki/website-assets/collaborations/script-in-chinese-by-igem-cuhk-hong-kong-docx.pdf">Chinese by iGEM CUHK-Hong Kong, in <aclass="link-ref"download=""target="_blank"href="https://static.igem.wiki/teams/4118/wiki/website-assets/collaborations/aboa-finnish-docx.pdf">Finnish by iGEM Aboa, in <aclass="link-ref"download=""target="_blank"href="https://static.igem.wiki/teams/4118/wiki/website-assets/collaborations/iit-delhi-hindi-docx.pdf">Hindi by iGEM IIT Delhi, and in <aclass="link-ref"download=""target="_blank"href="https://static.igem.wiki/teams/4118/wiki/website-assets/collaborations/tec-chihuahua-spanish-docx.pdf">Spanish by iGEM Tec Chihuahua. In addition, our team also managed to translate the script for iGEM CUHK-Hong Kong into Greek. This is a simple way to make the promotion video and, by extension, the project of the team and the concept of the iGEM Competition easily accessible and understandable by more people.

GENE - US is a knowledge board game in the form of questions and answers which consists of 6 categories of cards and combines knowledge of synthetic biology, anatomy, or physiology while including a more specialized category for the most daring players! We invited iGEM Pharaohs CU and iGEM CUHK-Hong Kong teams to add a new session (each one 20 more questions with multiple choices) related to their project as an extension to the already existing questions.

<h3class="small-title">Collaboration for SDGs

Aiming to achieve as many Sustainable Development Goals as possible we collaborated with other iGEM teams whose project is closely related to some of the 17 SDGs. Particularly, we asked iGEM Patras to send us a short text about the impact of their project in sustainable agriculture for SDG number 2 and iGEM Crete to send us a paragraph explaining the impact of their global food security-related project for SDG number 15.

In collaboration with our partners, Thessaloniki_Meta team, we organized several activities and posted them on our social media. The first one was on June 5, celebrating National Cancer Survivors Day, providing information and statistics. Moreover, we created an informative post for World Lung Cancer Day, on August 8.

<h3class="small-title">String Science with PRIDE

On the occasion of the day against homophobia and pride, our team participated in a collaboration organized by iGEM IISER Tirupati, titled “String Science with PRIDE”, by creating a prose regarding pride and. Our main goal is to highlight the value of pride through active participation and awareness-raising. Thus reaffirming once again that " we are all different but also equal" our group describes that the word "pride" means a feeling of satisfaction from one's achievements or, collectively, from the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated. In addition, the word pride means professionalism and perception (P), respect (R), integrity (I), diversity (D), and excellence (E).

Asia: On August 6th, we joined the Worldshaper-HZ China team's meet-up among Chinese teams, where we had the opportunity to present syn-PNOIA and gain feedback.

Europe: On 22-24 of July, we took part in the Summer Mediterranean iGEM meeting organized by iGEM UBarcelona, where many iGEM teams were invited to share their knowledge, different approaches, and experience. The panel also included projects and selected scientists' presentations.

Greece: On May 28th, we attended the Pre-Aegean meeting from the iGEM Patras team, an online introductory meeting between the Greek iGEM teams to meet each other and present our initial project ideas. An extra task for the participant teams was to choose and describe a person or scientist who inspired them to participate in the competition. Thus, we selected Shirley Chisholm, who fought for public health to become a right and requested equal rights for women, minorities, immigrants, and the poor. That motivated us to engage with Synthetic Biology in Medicine and prove that science is for everyone!
